Anja Berner

Anja Berner, how did you start your career?

I have a degree in economics with a focus on health economics and started my career at Munich Re as a trainee in a programme shared between reinsurance and DKV AG. In Munich Re, after various roles as underwriter, in projects and as executive assistant, I took on my first leadership role as team leader in 2009 and successfully established Product and Underwriting Governance in Munich Health.
In my next career move, I was able to develop various business development ideas as Head of Department and implement them in the international health insurance companies. I then took the opportunity to build up ERGO Global Health and drive exciting initiatives in health insurance, first as Head of Department, now as Head of Division.

As Chief Underwriting Officer Global Health, I am responsible for the ERGO-wide product strategy in health insurance. Together with my division, I ensure that we sell attractive and profitable health insurance products all over the world. Moreover, I am the Chairwoman of the Supervisory Boards of ERGO Krankenversicherung and Globality Health.

How would you describe your management style?

Collaborative and appreciative while keeping my goal in mind.

What makes you proud?

My wonderful daughter and my beloved husband! But of course also my fantastic team!
