This is Me: Personal stories that inspire

Campaign for the International Day of People with Disabilities

Disability-Day

Every year on 3 December, the world observes the International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPD). This year, we are focusing on the stories of colleagues with disabilities. Our “This is Me” video offers them a platform to share their personal experiences and life journeys.

The International Day of People with Disabilities is dedicated to promoting understanding and support for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. This year's theme is 'Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future'. This theme recognises the important role that people with disabilities play in our business and society.

For the Munich Re Group - and thus also for ERGO - this day is an opportunity to emphasise our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and to promote the goal of an inclusive working environment.

A wide spectrum of disabilities

Disability comes in many forms, both visible and invisible. Some people are born with a disability, while others acquire one at some point in their lives. It is a factor in the individual experiences of millions of people around the world. Recognising this diversity is essential to creating a truly inclusive environment - one where everyone feels seen, valued and empowered to bring their whole selves to work.

Our aim: an inclusive workplace for all

ERGO and Munich Re are committed to creating a workplace that is fair and inclusive for people of all abilities. This means not only promoting awareness, but also ensuring accessibility and actively supporting colleagues in their needs. Our aim is to break down both physical and social barriers and create a culture where everyone can find their place and feel included.

This is Me - Personal stories that inspire change

This year, we are proud to present a special IDPD initiative: our 'This is Me' video. For the first time, colleagues with disabilities from across the Munich Re Group are sharing their stories. Their experiences illustrate the diverse life journeys of people in our organisation and promote understanding and empathy across the organisation.
